The Newcastle Library was designed to support the library’s pro-active public service model with small, mobile customer service desks which are height adjustable. The library also features mobile shelving and displays to allow easy rearrangement and to facilitate diverse programs and events.

The library includes dedicated Children and Teen areas, an Internet Cafe, multi-purpose rooms, collaboration areas, seating areas, a Living Room with fireplace, an outdoor reading terrace, and staff work, lunch, and rest areas.
