Architectural Technologist

We are looking for permanent, full-time Architectural Technologists who will work with the project team to manage the day-to-day work of a project from start to finish, from design through construction. These individuals must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and demonstrate initiative. We are looking for people who can manage several projects, all at different project stages, at the same time.

Qualifications

  • Architectural Technologist with an advanced diploma minimum 3 years in Architectural Technology is required.  Experience in an architectural firm is an asset. 

  • Strong AutoCAD and Revit skills

  • Solid technical skills with the ability to prepare construction documents for a wide variety of building types

  • In-depth knowledge of building science

  • Understanding of the Ontario Building Code

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems is an asset

  • Ability to meet deadlines and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a studio environment

  • Ability to qualify for CPIC and security clearances required for government work

  • Knowledge of 3D-rendering programs is an asset

  • Must be a team player

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License is an asset

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for some projects 

Qualifications

  • Work with the project team as the day-to-day project lead while collaborating as part of the larger design team

  • Measure and document the as-found conditions of existing buildings

  • Participate in and run meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities

  • Prepare construction documents, including developing details and writing specifications

  • Coordinate the work of other disciplines including engineers, planners, and interior designers

  • Building Code and zoning analysis and reports

  • Construction administration tasks including site review, shop drawing review, and processing all paperwork associated with construction administration

  • Cost estimating for project budgets
