The Innisfil IdeaLab was a renovation and expansion of the existing Alcona District Library.

This re-imagined library is now a place to perform, create, collaborate, play, connect, and hang out. The IdeaLab sparks curious minds to learn new skills and explore innovative ideas and opportunities. The project included extensive public consultation.

The project integrates library collections, programs, services, and collaborative spaces with new facilities including a Hacker-Maker Space, a Digital Media Lab, a large informal Performance Space, and a sheltered courtyard and reading garden.

The Library is a busy, collaborative space bursting with activity, fun, and diverse opportunities. The Innisfil IdeaLab is embedded in the fabric of the community, and many helping hands have joined together to create this unique space.
