The Legislative Assembly building is an architectural and historic landmark of the highest order, in a magnificent urban setting. The project was a planned rehabilitation and restoration of this landmark facility. It included the introduction of a completely new state of the art mechanical, electrical, data communications and life safety systems as the initial steps to restoring the Ontario Legislature building. New service was planned to be introduced in an unobtrusive manner with minimal disturbance of the histroic fabric. Barrier free accessibility was planned in a manner compatible with the historic architecture.

SZA were the consultant team project managers during the Schematic Design and Detail Design phases leading an extensive team of consultants in planning the phased restoration and renovation of virtually the entire building. In association iwht Diamond + Smidtt Architects.
