Bethune Thompson House

Location: Williamston Ontario

Size: 3,000 sq ft

Client: Ontario Heritage Foundation

The Bethune Thompson property is a House Museum operated by the Ontario Heritage Foundation. It is located on the Raisin River in the village of Williamston, in Eastern Ontario. The property has several heritage structures including the oldest extant house in Ontario.

The project involved the installation of a new ground source heat pump system in an unobtrusive manner.

The project also included the rebuilding of structurally unsound limestone walls and the reconstruction of wood doors and windows to period details in the 1840 Hired Man’s House. As well new electrical, heating and cooling services were introduced into this house with minimal disturbance and no change to appearance of the original fabric.
